Plungė city is proud of its unique and well-kept tourist attractions. The distance to the city is 286 km and 56 km from Vilnius and Klaipėda respectively. City neighbourhood consist of lakes, walking paths, beautiful nature as well as restaurants and bars.

Plungė city is a good destination to visit, enjoy, discover, and invest in. The Plungė manor is one of the most beautiful manors in Lithuania. The city is also a home to the greatest artist in Lithuanian history – M. K. Čiurlionis, and is also distinguished by its buildings and monuments such as the Plunge Belfry and the Sculpture of St. Florian. Unique Historical Features

Plungė district is proud of having the most magnificent and well-kept ensemble of the mansion of duke M. Oginskis that attracts the attention of every visitor. Plateliai environs are surrounded by lakes and beautifully unique nature that lures in the lovers of both active and passive recreation. The activities available at the lakes include windsurfing, owing boats and water bicycles. Other attraction sites include Plungė edge, Žemaitija Art Museum, Clock tower, Plungė district public library, Plungė Lourdes, and Plungė Chapel of Saints.

Leisure Activities

Leisure activities available include Nature Route, Route of Personalities, Sacral Route, cycling around Lake Plateliai, kayaking, canoeing, and rafting. These activities can be use both for relaxation and team building purposes. The Žemaitija Art Musuem hosts two traditional events. These include the World‘s Žemaičiai art exhibition, which is organized every four years, and the International Festival of the Duke Mykolas Oginskis, held anually. One day of International Festival of the Duke Mykolas Oginskis is always dedicated for the greatest Lithuanian painter and composer – Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.

Effective transport Infrastructure

The city has rail, sea, and air links. Railway transport connects Plungė with Klaipėda, which is one of the key rail distribution hubs in the Baltic States. As for sea ports, Plungė is less than one hour away from Klaipėda Seaport which is the most northern ice-free port in the Baltics. Palanga airport is also less than an hour away from Plungė city.
